Often overlooked by many triathletes, the 4th (race nutrition) and 5th (transition) disciplines could turn a good day into a horrible experience very quickly.

When is the best time to eat breakfast before an event? What about how many calories to consume while training? Are you experiencing muscle fatigue or cramping while training? All of these questions and many more can be answered during this event.

What about transitions? Everybody knows what to bring, but have you actually taken the time to practice your transitions at full speed?

This unique workshop will include a 30 minute discussion on race nutrition presented by fellow triathlete and Nutrition Coach Todd Benedict, followed by a timed dress rehearsal of your transitions. We plan to have an actual transition corral set-up for real-time practice. Bring your wetsuit, bike and all necessary gear to practice T1 & T2. You will get wet, ride your bike and run out of the transition area. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest splits.

Training Studio Multisport is proud to host this triathlon workshop in conjunction with Ken Combs Running Store, Bluegrass Bicycle & Headfirst Performance.

Date: May 29th

Time: 8-10am

Location: The Training Studio, 161 St. Matthews Avenue, Suite #11

Cost: $50 ($35 for Landshark, OC Multisport & Training Studio members)

Registration Deadline: Registration must be completed and paid in full by 5/28.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Call 893-4024 (or email getinshape@thetrainingstudio.com) to reserve your spot today.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break! Now it is time to put down the little umbrella drinks and get back on your workout routine. Derby is around the corner and I know that we all want to feel confident at all the festivities.

Outdoor Accelerated Training will help you achieve that confidence. Tuesday kicks off the 3rd session and will last 4 weeks (April 13-May 6). Class is every Tuesday and Thursday 5am- 6am at The Training Studio. Remember that it is on a first come first serve basis – so reserve your spot today by emailing me at carrie@thetrainingstudio.com.

Outdoor Accelerated Training is for individuals of all fitness levels. It is a circuit based program that is designed around progression. This means that all stations consist of exercises that can be modified to increase or decrease the load as needed. Instead of reps per set, OAT uses a specific time for each set to focus more on form rather than # of reps. It is all about self improvement as you advance through the session!

Click HERE for more details about this program.
