Would give 10 stars if I could. The high schoolers I coach have been going to Training Studio for 3 of our off seasons so far, and we do not see a future where we aren't going to train here. They create custom workouts, have employees who care, and great training to keep everyone fit for all ages. I trained here with my athletes and can also say that the training was great for me too! We love The Training Studio!

It’s too bad that Planet Fitness already claimed the “Judgment Free Zone” slogan, because The Training Studio actually embodies that. I was urged by Rob Gentile at KORT Partners (St. Matthews) to start working out here at the beginning of this year. I had seen Rob for a few periods of time since last May when I had a fall off of my horse that injured my spine. He explained that transitioning to an appropriate level of strength training would help me to build off of the foundation that physical therapy had given me and would allow me to keep up my strength instead of losing it after leaving PT again. From the start, there was no judgment. I consulted with Dale, the owner, and he steered me towards personal training with Zach. From my very first time at the studio, I was met at the level I was at. Every single trainer/coach there has been fabulous and I think I’ve now worked with most of them at least a few times. The personal attention you get either in private training sessions OR in any of the groups is unmatched. You will be pushed to your limit, but absolutely not past it. If you can’t do any particular exercise, the coaches will help you do a modified version and build you up until you can. Past injuries and limitations are taken into account always. From someone who had never formally “worked out” before, THIS is the place to be. You’re going to find a new love for fitness, you’re going to make friends in the tight-knit TS community, and you’re going to improve your health and life. I’ve not only gotten stronger physically, but getting up and going to work out here most days has made a noticeable improvement on my mental health as well. I cannot possibly recommend the Training Studio enough. You owe it to yourself to try it out.
Best Running Club! Owner is very informative about fitness and passionate about everyones health.
Great facilities, good locations (2), excellent training staff.
Great local gym! I tried the 'Strong Class' that had kettle bells, TRX work, body movement, and some squats. I liked the small group format and close attention from the coach. Learned some new exercises and going to be sore tomorrow. I'll be back!
Doing the running program and I highly recommend! Even in the single digit weather they had water, mile markers and signs set up for the Saturday run. The people were all very friendly, staff are professional and knowledgeable.
I helped my daughter move into her new apartment in Chicago a couple weeks ago. We carried furniture and heavy boxes up three flights of stairs, 40 or more trips! If it weren’t for Dale and The Training Studio, I couldn’t have done it. Towards the end I could hear Dale’s voice: “it’s not a race, go at your own pace, take a breather when you need it.”
I have been working out with TS for four years now. Their nutrition program coupled with regular workouts resulted in me losing 32 pounds at the start. Additionally, my core strength is so much stronger. I’m not even close to being winded after going up several flights of stairs. My stamina is greater. I feel as though I’m 25 years younger. I’m also sleeping better and have a much more positive outlook on life.
The Training Studio offers what no other gym does: personalized attention. Have an issue, say something. The coaches are always ready with a modification that will fit your limitations. If you don’t make it to a class, one of the trainers will reach out and check on you. The Training Studio is an extended family.
When I began those 5 plus years ago my weight was approximately 190 lbs and increasing, and both of my cholesterol numbers were “bad”. During my time at The Training Studio I have gained overall strength, core strength and cardio fitness. I have lost 20 lbs and my cholesterol medicine dosage has been positively adjusted because of my greatly improved numbers. I am convinced that it is adding life to my calendar. This should hopefully equate to many more years with my wife, children and grandchildren.
This November will be five years of working out with Coach Cindy. It has increased my level of fitness, made me much stronger, increased my endurance and positively affected my energy levels and sleep patterns. I am so thankful to TS as it has helped me manage the stress and internal physical symptoms that come along with being a 53-year-old woman.
I’ve been running with The Training Studio for about 20 years. With their guidance and training, I’ve run 15 marathons and 30 half marathons. I run to reduce stress, stay healthy, and stay strong. You meet the most amazing and wonderful people who become lifelong friends.
I needed a place that would make sure I had proper form and would understand how to train a woman’s body. Cindy focuses on doing the exercises correctly so they actually work, as opposed to doing as many reps as possible. Before my freshman season at Northwestern I broke my foot and really struggled with the long recovery. With Cindy’s help I refused to give up, and she designed workouts to keep me strong so that when I got out of my cast I could return to playing sooner rather than later. I completed Level 4 of FitRanx on one leg.
I tried about 8 different gyms in the area before deciding to commit to TS. For years my workouts were primarily weightlifting and cardio. As I’ve gotten older I started noticing that my lack of focus on flexibility had contributed to past injuries, and I wasn’t seeing the results I used to. Because of TS I’m in the best shape of my life. My flexibility and balance are much better, I’ve maintained my strength and muscle tone, and my overall fitness is at a MUCH higher level.
Stacey’s experience with personal fitness training began as a client of The Training Studio. Seeing the changes it made in her own life led her to want to do the same for others, so in 1999 she began her pursuit towards certification as a personal trainer. Twenty-five years later she is the person people in Louisville get sent to when they are training around a joint replacement.
